Most watch winders use motors that were made for other purposes. For instance, the Mabuchi motor in most watch winders today was originally designed for CD players. The motor spins too fast for a watch winder, so it was adapted to use gears and belts to slow the speed down for winding watches. The motor ends up spinning many more times than the watch to achieve its turns per day. It is a very inefficient design and causes premature failure of the motor which is the number one complaint of all watch winders on the market today.

The Heiden Nova series resolves this problem. We have developed a motor from the ground up specifically designed for winding watches. It is direct-drive, brushless, and does not need gears or belts. The number of times it turns is the number of times the watch will turn. The 1:1 ratio of motor turns to watch turns makes it much more efficient and reliable than past designs.

The Heiden Nova also offers programmable turns per day. It can be programmed to turn any number of turns per day in increments of 50 from 300 to 2000. This fine-tuned control will give you the best balance of performance, longevity, and convenience.
